What is a WellBowen treatment

Updated: Aug 15

In the WellBowen treatment space, I have developed a fusion approach that begins with a massage session, which is designed to relax the muscles and promote overall well-being. This initial stage of therapy focuses on easing discomfort, improving circulation, and relaxing the body. The massage techniques I employ are tailored to the individual client, taking into account the areas of discomfort and any underlying conditions that may require attention.

Following the massage, I proceed with Bowen therapy, a gentle yet highly effective technique that targets the fascia and soft tissues of the body. Bowen therapy involves precise movements and gentle pressure applied to specific points, facilitating the body’s natural healing processes. This method not only helps in relieving pain and discomfort but also encourages a deep state of relaxation and balance within the body.

Each session is customized based on the client's feedback and response to the initial massage, ensuring that the Bowen therapy is as effective as possible. In addition to these two primary modalities, I also incorporate cupping therapy when necessary.

Cupping is an ancient practice that involves placing cups on the skin to create decompression, which can help to enhance blood flow, reduce inflammation, and promote healing in targeted areas. This technique is particularly beneficial for clients who may be experiencing chronic pain, muscle discomfort, or other issues that have not responded well to traditional massage or Bowen therapy alone.

Horstmann Technique (HT) is a gentle bodywork approach developed by Australian naturopath Trish Trowbridge and used internationally. It’s another tool I may include in a WellBowen treatment to support physical and emotional wellbeing, and it’s based on the idea that past experiences can be held in the body—often around the lumbar and hip area, shoulders.

By integrating cupping and Horstmann Technique into my treatment plan. I can offer a more holistic approach to healing, addressing both immediate symptoms and long-term wellness goals. Overall, my treatments aim to provide a multi-faceted experience that not only focuses on immediate relief but also promotes long-term health and vitality. Each client’s journey is unique, and through this combination of massage, Bowen therapy, cupping and Horstmann Technique, I strive to support your individual healing processes and enhance your overall quality of life.
